Dr. Karla is a 1996 graduate of the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. She and her husband Ed live in Eddyville Illinois with their terrific son Ethan, born in March 2010. She is very pleased to be providing medical care to pets in Massac and surrounding counties. Having served as an assistant professor for the U of I College of Veterinary Medicine from 1998 through 2007, she is dedicated to educating pet owners in the best way to care for their furry friends. When not at River’s Edge, Dr. Karla and Ed can usually be found working around the house and playing with Ethan.

Dr. Jones graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies in 2013. Dr. Jones received his Bachelors of Science in Agriculture from Murray State University in 2008. He loves the outdoors and spends time tending a carnivorous plant garden, playing all kinds of video games ( he is a self-proclaimed nerd) , and restoring a 1976 GMC Sierra 4×4. Dr. Jones lives in Paducah, Kentucky and is also the Medical Director at the McCracken County Humane Society in Paducah where he developed a shelter medicine and surgery program to help keep the resident animals healthy and control the overall pet population . As a member of the River’s Edge team he plans to provide the same excellent services and quality medicine for which River’s Edge is known.
Alisa was born and raised in Massac County and graduated from Joppa High school in 2009. She then attended Shawnee Community college for two years, and transferred to Murray State University in August of 2011. She Graduated from Murray State University with a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology in December of 2013. She joined the Rivers Edge team in December of 2013. Alisa has one dog, Phoebe and loves to bring her to work and show her off!
Cora joined the team at River’s Edge Veterinary Hospital in February, 2017. Cora has been in the veterinary profession for many years, is a licensed veterinary technician and graduated from Parkland College in Champaign, Il. She enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 children, 3 cats and 2 dogs. In addition, Cora is an avid runner/walker and enjoys being outside.
Ellen graduated from Veterinary Technology program at Parkland College in 1985. She has over 30 years of experience as a certified Veterinary Technician. Ellen lives on her horse farm with her husband, Frank. They have 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 horses, and 3 mules. She loves trail riding, cooking and spending quality time with family, friends, and her pets. Ellen is very fortunate to be a part of the River’s Edge team.
Devon joined the team at River’s Edge Veterinary Hospital in February of 2013. She lives in Northern Massac County with her husband Tom and their 9 year old dachshund, Lucy. They have been blessed with three children, seven grandchildren and three grand-dogs. Devon is started her new career after 35 years in banking. She is excited and looking forward to helping with the care and needs of your pets. Devon invites all her friends to call or come by and experience the best way to care for your pets with the wonderful staff at River’s Edge Veterinary Hospital.
LeAnn joined the River’s Edge Team in the Spring of 2015. She enjoys cheering for her son, Noah’s baseball team and spending time with her dog Coco.
Lisa is a Registered Nurse who earned her BSN from McKendree University and has practiced in the field of nursing for many years. She has always been an animal lover who has volunteered her time at various shelters throughout her life and decided to make the switch from taking care of people to animals. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her pets.
Carisa was born and raised in Massac County, and graduated from Massac Country High school in 1989. She resides in Metropolis with her husband Jack. She has two sons, Kaleb and Ryan, and one grandson, Kayden. She has four dogs, Skippy, Gunner, Odie and Tucker. Carisa enjoys spending time with her grandson, playing golf, and re-purposing old furniture.
Carisa was interested in going to college for an occupation in the veterinary field, however, went into the banking industry and worked in that field for over 23 years. She is now enjoying an occupation that involves things that are very important to her; quality customer service and education to pet owners.
Cassie graduated from Shawnee High School in 2008. She lives in Olmsted, IL with her loving husband Eric and beautiful daughter Riley. She has 2 horses, 3 cats, a mini aussie named Layla and a bloodhound named Bo. She loves spending time with her family, riding horses, playing guitar & singing, hunting, fishing and photography. She started working at River’s Edge in July of 2009 as a veterinary assistant and received on the job training. She is competent in restraint, reading cytology’s and fecals, blood draw, placing IV catheters, processing blood work and other in-house tests, and assisting in surgeries. She has taken a special interest in dentistry and has become skilled in taking dental radiographs, prophys and assisting in dental treatments.
She loves her job and plans to stay at River’s Edge for many years to come. She loves helping to educate clients and is willing to assist them in any way she can.

Jerri graduated From Hardin County High School in 2017. She resides in Hardin County where she has 2 horses, 1 cat, and 4 dogs. She enjoys spending her time going camping, fishing, and horseback riding. Jerri joined the River’s Edge team in the summer of 2018 after completing a one semester Veterinary Assistant course at Southeastern Illinois College.
